Pipsqueeze is a children’s fruit juice developed to help in the reduction of child obesity by educating children about locally grown food. The ‘surprise’ seeds contained inside the Pipsqueeze pot lid embraces the current primary school initiative to teach children about growing their own food.
When the fruit and vegetable juice is finished the bottle can be turned over to form a micro greenhouse. Add soil, the seeds provided, water and sunlight then screw the clear dome top into the pot lid to form a mini ecosystem. The plat will thrive in the enclosure as the sealed space creates a self-sufficient ecosystem. The only external input needed to keep the plant growing is natural light as the plant can survive using photosynthesis to recycle all necessary nutrients.
The bottle design took on a very literal interpretation of a pot so children could identify with the bottle when used as a juice container or as a micro greenhouse. The bubble at the top of micro greenhouse dome strengthens the injection moulded plastic, and encourages condensation drops to fall back to the plant.
